Medrad Stellant Maintenance

Reliable Contrast Delivery Starts with Preventive Service

Regular Stellant preventive maintenance is essential to keeping your Medrad Stellant injector operating safely and precisely. FDM Enterprises provides expert Medrad Stellant maintenance tailored to Stellant injector preventive service, ensuring dependable performance every time.

Stellant PM is performed annually. We service the Stellant, Stellant Sx, Stellant D and Stellant FLEX, with or without the Certegra workstation, and every visit ends with a documented field service report for your records.

Scheduling and Pricing

Stellant PM is quoted as a firm price with travel included, so what you see is what you pay. Get your own number without calling anyone. We cover up to three injectors in a single visit, which is worth knowing if you have more than one system on site.

  • Full QA test and documentation

Common Issues We See on Stellant Injectors

These are the conditions that most often turn into downtime when maintenance is deferred. If you are seeing any of them, it is worth getting the system looked at. If your injector is already displaying a fault message, see Stellant error codes for what the specific codes mean.

Worn plunger tip boots and seals

The most common finding on any injector past its service interval, and a frequent cause of delivery inconsistency.

Delivery falling outside expected tolerance

The system delivers less contrast than programmed, which tends to show up as a non-diagnostic study rather than an obvious equipment failure.

Heater not holding temperature

Affects contrast viscosity and injection pressure.

Motor or drive assembly binding

Often felt as hesitation before it becomes a hard fault.

Nuisance air alarms

The system halts for air on a fluid path that looks clear.

Contrast residue in the syringe well

A frequent contributor to syringe detection faults.

Intermittent head-to-console faults

The hardest kind to chase, because the system passes a self test and then fails mid-patient.

Batteries past service life

On battery-equipped configurations.

Display and membrane panel wear

Operators start working around dead zones, which is where protocol errors begin.

Why It Matters

  • Prevents unplanned injector failures
  • Ensures accurate contrast delivery
  • Extends the life of high-wear components
  • Supports safety and compliance goals
  • Produces the documented maintenance record accreditation surveys ask for
  • A failed injector cancels contrast studies for the day, not just the patient in the room

Bayer End of Life and Your Stellant

Bayer has published an end of life date of 12/31/2028 for the MEDRAD Stellant CT Injection Systems, covering the Classic models, the Dual and Single models, and the version with the Certegra Workstation. Bayer states that after an end of life date it will no longer offer service, preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, replacement parts, technical support or consumables for that installed base.

That is not a safety recall and it is not a verdict on your hardware. It does mean maintenance, parts and syringes will need to come from somewhere else. We service these systems and supply the consumables for them, including platforms Bayer has already retired.

Syringe Kits and Consumables for the Stellant

We supply FDA-cleared syringe kits and connecting tubing for the Stellant, cross referencing OEM SSS-CTP-SPK, SSS-CTP-QFT, SDS-CTP-SPK, SDS-CTP-QFT and SDS-CTP-SCS. Because we service this injector as well as supply it, we confirm a kit is right for your exact model before it ships rather than after it does not seat.

Ask us to quote your preventive maintenance alongside your syringe order. For many departments that is one purchase order and one approval instead of two, which is often the difference between a PM getting scheduled and getting deferred another year.
